James Garland: You need to accept who I am as I accept who you are. Can you show in our conversation one time I mentioned a scripture or anything from the word of God? Now who is preaching to whom and who hasn’t been preaching? The word of God and religious beliefs? Me or you?

Darlalu Ann Craanen: What do you mean?

James Garland: Not once I know the scriptures very well, but I have no need to prove what I believe and what I don’t using scriptures. Try discussing religion without quoting “The Word of God”.

Darlalu Ann Craanen: I did mention the word and scripture and if you don’t want to hear it then no more. You are who you are, and I am who I am.

Now let’s move on.

James Garland: And religion is exactly what it is religion from many different religious organizations all claiming they are the chosen church preaching the word of God according to their religious dogmas.

Darlalu Ann Craanen: And I said. If you don’t want to hear the word of God. Then drop that part of the conversation.

James Garland: Beliefs. I discuss GOD in general terms, not religious beliefs. I don’t have to throw out all the scriptures to have a conversation about GOD. I can talk about GOD in general terms without scriptures I am very fully aware of and what they say and where they are locate in the word of God. Anyone can do that.

Darlalu Ann Craanen: You don’t know me at all.

James Garland: And you don’t know me at all.

Bingo!

We are having a general conversation not a religious one.

Darlalu Ann Craanen: My Dad came to California and got Pat and me. We lived a very good life. Never went to bed hungry, had a roof over our heads and clothes on our backs. Neither one of us went to college. We both started working at the age of 14. I was a waitress, and he worked at dad’s gas station. Later I got a job with the tobacco company. I met my husband there. We were married 21 years and had three children. He passed away at a very young age.

Later man Got to go. Got things to do.

James Garland: Thank you. that’s what I want to hear more about you growing up and the things you had to overcome to help make you become the person you are today without referring to scripture it’s not necessary I am interested in knowing the person you are today and your family and the same with Pat and his family. Have a great day.

And you can easily say GOD did this for me and God did that for me and my family without the quoting of scripture to share your story with me; Later, Jg

Darlalu Ann Craanen: I can make it plain, but I am a child of God, and I stand on His word.

James Garland: I know what you are saying and know where the scriptures are located and exactly what they say. Just omit the scriptures and you are a child of God? But it is not

    There are many false prophets out there". I agree little sister Darla, starting with the Pentecostals. Who have been around since 1896 and 1901, when the Apostolic Faith movement began.

CHAPTER THREE *The late Joe Cordonier a longtime resident and past City of Tulelake, City Clerk and USFS employee. Joe Cordonier used to have a saying for when it came to things or ideas for Tulelake getting done. "It is not the message but the messenger as to rather it gets done or not in the city of Tulelake." I first met Joe Cordonier at the old city hall when it was next to Veterans Park. I would go in there and pay my water and garbage bill and got to know Joe over the years as he would share with me the history of Tulelake. I kept suggesting he write a book about Tulelake and its history but unfortunately, he never did and I don't know why he never did. As it would have been a good book in my opinion. So a lot of history has been lost and for others to write about Tulelake now. The end of one chapter and the beginning and moving on to the next... So many things have happened since the day my Mom passed away. It is hard to recall all the turmoil and having my whole world turned up side down and every way, but loose.
